Hearts of Oak Board Member, Vincent Sowah-Odotei, has expressed his determination to ensure that the club becomes competitive in the upcoming season. The Phobian Club had a dismal campaign last season, finishing in the 14th position with 45 points, after working with three different coaches.
Sowah-Odotei has assured that the club is working hard to rectify the issues and become a force to be reckoned with in the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League campaign. The league is set to kick off on September 6, and the Board Member is confident that the team will be competitive by then.
“We are on track, it’s not a simple, lineal thing, there are so many factors that come into play but we think that we are trying to manage all those factors to make sure that by the beginning of the season, we will have the strength in squad to make sure that we are that we think that can make us competitive,” he told ChannelOne TV after the handing over ceremony of the newly built Phobia House.
The club has already made some significant signings, including Benjamin Asare, Samuel Amofa, Michael Awuah, and Asamoah Boateng Afriyie. Sowah-Odotei is confident that these new additions will help to strengthen the team and make them competitive.
Hearts of Oak will begin their season on September 6 with a home game against Basake Holy Stars at the Accra Sports Stadium. The team is looking to put their poor campaign last season behind them and make a strong start to the new season.
