Hearts of Oak head coach, Aboubakar Ouattara, has praised his team’s unwavering determination and hard work following their dominant 4-0 win over Immigration FC in the MTN FA Cup, which secured their spot in the Round of 32.
Despite facing challenges, with seven players sidelined due to injuries, Ouattara expressed his pride in the team’s resilience, which enabled them to triumph at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium.
“We have a big problem because seven of our players are injured,” Ouattara explained. “But we didn’t let that hold us back. We made some strategic changes during the game, and it paid off.”
The coach acknowledged that the first half presented difficulties but emphasized that his team’s persistence and tactical adjustments were key to the resounding victory.
“There’s no secret to beating Immigration. It’s all about hard work. We always try to work hard,” Ouattara said.
Reflecting on last season’s early FA Cup exit, Ouattara noted that it served as extra motivation for the team to take the competition seriously this year.
“Last year, we were out at this round, so we did take the game seriously,” he added.
The victory serves as a confidence booster for Hearts of Oak as they prepare for the highly anticipated Ghana Premier League clash against Asante Kotoko on December 15.
