Hearts of Oak head coach Didi Dramani has explained his decision to start goalkeeper Solomon Agbasi ahead of Benjamin Asare in the club’s league fixture against Bechem United, describing the move as part of a planned rotation strategy.
Solomon Agbasi, who was handed a starting role, put in a solid performance and made several crucial saves to help Hearts of Oak keep a clean sheet, while Benjamin Asare was left on the bench despite impressing after returning from injury.
Speaking after the match, Didi Dramani said the decision was taken to properly manage the workload of his goalkeepers and ensure competition within the squad.
“The reason is just to deload and also to give Solomon game minutes,” the Hearts of Oak coach explained.
He added that rotating the goalkeepers is essential to building a strong and healthy culture within the team.
“If we were in the FA Cup, Solomon would have featured in those games. But after three or four matches, Benjamin needs to be deloaded. This helps build a very strong culture within our goalkeeping department,” Dramani stated.
The Hearts of Oak coach emphasized that such decisions are aimed at keeping all players match-ready while maintaining balance and competitiveness within the squad.
