Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Benjamin Asare has reportedly emerged as a transfer target for German second-tier side Hertha BSC.
The 34-year-old goalkeeper has been linked with a potential move to the 2. Bundesliga outfit, although there has been no official confirmation of negotiations or an agreement between the clubs.
Asare joined Hearts of Oak from Great Olympics on July 24, 2024, and has since established himself as an important figure between the posts for the Phobians.
His profile has received a significant boost following his involvement with the Ghana national team at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where he made three appearances, kept two clean sheets and conceded two goals.
Standing at 1.88 metres, the right-footed goalkeeper remains under contract with Hearts of Oak until June 30, 2027. Any move to Hertha BSC before the expiration of that contract would therefore require a transfer agreement between the two clubs.
Asare’s current reported market valuation stands at around €200,000, although Hearts of Oak would ultimately determine his transfer value should formal interest materialise.
For now, Hertha’s reported interest remains at the rumour stage, but a move to Germany could offer the experienced Ghanaian goalkeeper an opportunity to continue his career in European football.
