Heart of Lions head coach Bashir Hayford is taking a cautious approach as his side prepares for their crucial Ghana Premier League clash against Hearts of Oak this weekend in Kpando.
Both teams are searching for their first win of the season following disappointing starts.
Heart of Lions managed a 1-1 draw against Aduana FC in their opener, while Hearts of Oak were stunned by newly promoted Basake Holy Stars in a 1-0 defeat.
Despite Hearts of Oak’s shaky form, Hayford is not underestimating the challenge ahead.
Speaking to Peace FM, Hayford emphasized the need for focus and preparation. “Going into the Accra Hearts of Oak game, it is our own field. With that in mind, we are going to play our game. So I don’t want to predict. Hearts of Oak is not a small team,” he stated.
Heart of Lions are unbeaten in their last two home games and will look to capitalize on Hearts of Oak’s inconsistent performances, as the Phobians have lost three of their last six matches. The Lions will hope to use their home advantage to secure a much-needed victory.
