Hearts of Oak Managing Director, Delali Anku-Adiamah, has praised defender Kelvin Osei Asibey for his overall performance, despite the error that led to the team’s defeat against Asante Kotoko in stoppage time on Sunday.
Asibey’s mistake in the dying moments of the game allowed Kotoko’s Albert Amoah to score the match-winning goal, securing a 1-0 victory for the Porcupine Warriors in their Matchday 13 clash at the Baba Yara Stadium.
With the win, Kotoko extended their unbeaten streak over Hearts to four consecutive matches.
Despite the blunder, Anku-Adiamah was quick to defend Asibey, insisting that his overall contribution on the field had been exceptional.
“You can’t just look at the mistake. It came way up the field before it even reached the defense,” Anku-Adiamah said in an interview with Kessben FM.
“Let’s look at the entire situation—from midfield to the back. Kelvin was one of the best players on the field, if not the man of the match. His tackles and clearances were fantastic.”
The MD also recommended Asibey to the Black Stars, emphasizing that mistakes are a natural part of the game.
“Black Stars should take a look at Asibey because he’s an amazing player. Mistakes happen, so we shouldn’t judge a player by just one error,” Anku-Adiamah added.
