Kwame Opare Addo, the Public Relations Officer of Hearts of Oak, expressed a strong belief that his team is still in the running to win the Ghana Premier League, emphasizing that the title race remains open.
While the performance of the “Phobians” hasn’t been particularly impressive this season, they have managed to maintain a position among the top four teams for a significant period of time, keeping their championship hopes alive.
With 12 wins, nine draws, and nine losses in 30 matches, Hearts of Oak currently sits in the 5th position on the league table with 45 points.
Aduana Stars currently leads the table with 52 points, holding a seven-point advantage over the Rainbow Club. However, Opare Addo believes that the title race is far from over, and all contenders still have a chance to win with four matches remaining.
“We will continue to fight until the end of the season,” he affirmed during an interview with Accra-based MAX FM. “There are four games left, and the point gap between Hearts and Aduana is only seven points.”
In the upcoming round of matches, Hearts of Oak will face Medeama SC, who currently holds the second position. Securing all three points in this crucial match will be crucial for Hearts of Oak to close the gap to just two points.
