The younger brother of Antoine Semenyo, Jai, has declared his intention to play for Ghana at the international level despite being eligible to feature for England.
The Cardiff City player says he is determined to follow in the footsteps of his senior brother, who committed his future to the Black Stars last year and has been a regular since then.
Jai joined Cardiff in 2021 as a free agent from Mangotsfield and looks to be progressing well for the youth team as he continues to make a name for himself.
The 19-year-old made one appearance for the senior team this season featuring in the Carabao Cup defeat against Portsmouth in August 2022.
Speaking to UK-based Pace of Work, Jai revealed his dreams of playing for Ghana.
“[At the] international level, I would love to play for Ghana. My parents are from Ghana [and] Ghana has been the way through my whole life,” the youngster said.
“First time I started playing football, I was around 7 or 8 with my brother and his friends around where they stay.”
Jai plays as a defender and is looking to continue his development with his current club.
