Accra Hearts of Oak board member, Vincent Sowah Odotei, has refuted claims that the team underpays its players.
He asserts that the Phobians are Ghana’s highest-paying team.
According to experts, underpaid Ghanaian footballers who compete on the local scene contribute to the regular player exodus, a practise that impacts Ghanaian clubs’ success in Africa inter-club competitions.
Many Ghanaian football fans have expressed worry over the welfare of local players, however, Hearts Sowah Odotei claims that the Club’s players receive the highest salaries in the nation.
He thinks that the club now employs cutting-edge football administration structures, which will increase their level of competition in Ghana and throughout Africa.
“People who are clamouring, if they have shares, they should come to the AGM and then put their cash on the table,” he told LUV FM.
“We have nothing to hide, they will see how much money is being pumped into the club every month.
“Hearts of Oak players are the highest-paid players in Ghana, I am telling you a fact. You can go back and cross-check the state of Hearts of Oak.
“If I tell you the amount of money that goes into salaries every month in Hearts of Oak, I’m sure people who are shouting will keep quiet but a time will come when those things will be made public.”
