Ghana winger, Jospeh Paintsil, has revealed he has been named in Otto Addo’s provisional list for the 2022 FIFA World Cup as he chases an appearance at the Mundial.
The 24-year-old, who has been in stunning form for Genk this season has been one of Ghana’s effective players in Europe scoring six goals and providing four assists in the Belgian league.
After being left out of the squad for the September international break, the forward has paid attention to his performances with his club, which has been doing the talking for him.
The performances seem to have earned him a place in Ghana’s pre-World Cup squad as he confirms.
“I am in the pre-selection. I hope to be among the 26 in the final selection,” he said as quoted by voetbalkrant.com.
“It will be announced within a week or so. My goal and my assist may also be important with a view to the World Cup.”
Paintsil was named the Man of the Match in Genk’s league win over Mechelen on Friday.
