Accra Hearts of Oak forward Daniel Afriyie Barniel says he’s ‘super excited’to be handed a spot in Ghana coach Otto Addo’s squad for the Black Stars ‘ upcoming international friendlies.
The Black Stars will be involved in two international friendlies against Brazil and Nicaragua later this month.
Afriyie Barnieh, is the only local player to have been called to the Black Stars in Otto Addo’s latest squad list.
In the previous call-up, he went alongside Augustine Okrah, then a Bechem United player and Dennis Korsah, also of Hearts of Oak.
But the latter players have been subsequently dropped in favor of Barnieh, who will travel with the current squad to France and Spain to face Brazil and Nicaragua respectively.
“Super excited and thankful to be named in the Black Stars team for the nation’s 🇬🇭 September friendlies.
“Wouldn’t be possible without the continues support from you the fans.. Thank you
The Goal is Qatar 🚀🙏🏾 .. He wrote on Facebook on Tuesday afternoon.
Barnieh has proved to be a key player for the Phobians and inspired the Black Galaxies to qualification to the African Nations Championship tournament for the first time since 2014.
