Ghanaians were left shocked by the exclusion of KRC Genk winger Joseph Paintsil from the Black Stars squad ahead of the September friendlies.

Paintsil has been in great form this season, scoring three goals in seven league games for his club this season and many expected him to be in the squad.

But, Addo chose to name a 29-man squad without Joseph Paintsil, shocking many Ghanaians on Twitter.

“Otoo Addo should come and explain why Ransford-Yeboah whatever whatever got a call up and Joseph Painstil of Genk missed out. Apart from that, not a bad squad though,” Iddrisrh on Twitter wrote.

“Bernard Terkpetey for Benjamin Tetteh, Schlupp should be there in place of injured Partey and Joseph painstil for Fatawu. Also let me ask you guys ooo Baba Rahman he get shares for gfa? Finally wakaso dropped,” adds gnkwame.

Donmoses1 tweeted: “Some people are playing politics with our national team. Salis Abdul Samed and Joseph Painstil have been playing 90 minutes week in week out scoring goals all but no call up, yet they’ve called players who’re eating bench. Some even in team B. We won’t agree oo.”

“Why is Fatawu Issahaku in this call up and Joseph Painstil is not in? Otto should be bold sometimes, he shouldn’t be listening to Kurt everyday What has Fatawu Issahaku done this season to deserve this call up?,” posted Kojoantwiba.
