Hearts of Oak’s head coach, Aboubakar Ouattara, has been honored as the Ghana Premier League Coach of the Week for Round 6 following his team’s impressive performance against Young Apostles.
Under Ouattara’s guidance, the Phobians demonstrated remarkable determination and skill, securing a 2-1 victory at the Wenchi Sports Stadium. This win not only showcased the team’s resilience but also solidified their position in the league standings.
The Phobians took the lead in the 50th minute, thanks to Emmanuel Amankwah, who scored following a period of sustained pressure.
However, controversy struck earlier in the game when a Hearts goal was ruled out, a decision that left the visiting side frustrated.
Young Apostles fought back and equalised late in the match, with Samuel Prempeh finding the net in the 84th minute. Just as it seemed the game would end in a draw, Hearts of Oak responded immediately.
Two minutes after conceding, Hamza Issah restored their lead with a well-timed finish, sealing the win for Hearts.
The victory lifts Hearts of Oak to 8th on the table. This comes as a relief for Hearts, who had been held to goalless draws in their previous two matches.
