Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has showered praise on Antoine Semenyo following another outstanding performance in the Premier League.

The Ghana international was at the heart of City’s dominant 3-0 win over Fulham, scoring once and providing an assist as the champions maintained pressure on Arsenal in the title race.

Semenyo, who arrived at the Etihad Stadium in January, has made an immediate impact, netting five goals in just eight appearances and quickly becoming a key figure in Guardiola’s attacking setup.

Speaking after the match, Guardiola highlighted the 26-year-old’s qualities, particularly his sharp instincts in the box, pace, and work rate.

“[Semenyo] has a sense of the second balls in the box, but not just that — the pace and intensity — he is a top, top player,” Guardiola said.
“The club made a good move signing Semenyo, and Antoine is an incredible addition.”

Semenyo, on his part, credited his teammates and the positive environment at the club for helping him settle quickly and produce strong performances.

“There are no secrets. It’s just being part of a great team and a great environment. The coach has been great and they’ve made it easy for me to settle. It’s all a fairytale right now,” he said after the game.

He also stressed the importance of maintaining consistency as City continue their pursuit of the league title.

“It was very important to win. That was the message after the Liverpool game — to back it up. It was a tough match, but we got the three points again and I’m happy,” he added.

Semenyo also praised teammate O’Reilly for his contribution, revealing his confidence in the young player when setting him up.

“He’s got that in the locker. He’s a very technical player. When I slid him in, I knew he was going to score.”

With his explosive start and growing influence, the Ghanaian forward is quickly proving to be one of City’s most exciting additions as they push for Premier League glory.
