Highly-rated Ghanaian teenage sensation, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku has finally started training with Portuguese outfit, Sporting Cp, to continue his development.
The versatile midfielder begun training with the club’s senior side early this week, which could serve as the medium to work his way up into the team at the very start of next season.
He was part of Ghana’s Under-20 side that won the Africa Cup of Nations last year, where he won the Most Valuable Player of the tournament while scoring twice for the Black Satellites en route to winning the title.
His stellar performances in the competition as well as his eye-catching displays for Division One side, Steadfast FC saw him secure a loan move to Dreams FC.
During the 2021-22 Ghana Premier League and for the first time this season, the 17-year-old found the back on the net six times for the Still Believe lads prior to making the Black Stars final squad for the just-ended AFCON in Cameroon.
The youngster started just one game at the continental showpiece in Cameroon, while making cameo appearances against Morocco and Gabon as Ghana exited the competition in the group stage.
He was previously linked to some of Europe’s heavyweight clubs including but the nimble-footed attacking midfielder left the country last night to join the defending Portuguese champions.
The club officially announced the signing of the Ghanaian wonder kid last month and has been given the platform to play with the senior before the end of the 2021-22 season.
