Hull City FC, have reportedly agreed a fee of £3m following an increased offer from the Tigers to sign Black Stars striker Brandon Thomas-Asante who is also being chased by Leeds United and Southampton FC.
Football Insider reports that a full agreement is now said to be inching closer, with Thomas-Asante’s two-year association with the Baggies seemingly coming to an end. He joined the club from Salford City in 2022 and has scored 21 goals in 78 appearances.
Last year, he was reported to be on Leeds United’s radar but he remained on West Brom’s books beyond the summer 2023 deadline. More recently, he has been linked with Premier League newcomers Southampton.
However, it appears Hull have won the race for his signature as their transfer activity picks up speed. The Tigers are in the market for new additions, having seen a raft of players move on.
Asante notched 12 goals and two assists in 43 appearances across all competitions in the 2023-24 campaign, starting in 33 of those outings.
Since joining West Brom from Salford in 2022 he has finished as top scorer in his first two seasons, proving his ability in front of goal.
Thomas-Asante has less than 12 months to run on his deal with the Midlands side and they have now agreed to cash in and avoid losing him for free in 2025.
