Asante Kotoko‘s striker, Steven Mukwala, expressed his elation after scoring a remarkable brace against arch-rivals Hearts of Oak.
The Ugandan forward’s stellar performance played a pivotal role in the Porcupine Warriors’ 3-2 victory over Hearts of Oak on Sunday at the Baba Yara Stadium during the Matchday 14 fixture.
Having faced challenges earlier in the season, Mukwala has bounced back with exceptional form, contributing four goals in three games, including significant wins over Legon Cities and Berekum Chelsea.
In a post-match interview following his outstanding performance, Mukwala shared his excitement, stating, “It’s really amazing. I am speechless; scoring in a derby is a great feeling. In a derby…just get the three points and make the fans happy, that’s all.”
Isaac Oppong, Kotoko’s forward, canceled out Linda Mtange’s goal in the first half, setting the stage for Mukwala’s decisive strikes in the second half.
With this victory, Asante Kotoko has climbed to the 7th position in the league standings with 22 points.
