Ghana’s Black Queens Coach, Nora Hauptle, has reaffirmed her dedication to her current role, dismissing speculation linking her to the vacant Head Coach position in Zambia.
Following a impressive performance in February’s 2024 Olympic qualifier against Zambia, where the Black Queens secured a thrilling 3-3 draw, Zambian fans have been vocal in their support for Hauptle to take the reins of their national team.
However, Hauptle has emphasized her commitment to her current mission with the Black Queens, stating, “I’m the Ghana national team coach. Of course, it’s an honour when other countries are asking for me, but I know where I belong to.”
Despite Ghana’s elimination from Olympic contention, Hauptle’s coaching prowess has earned admiration from Zambian supporters, but she has dismissed any notion of leaving her post.
“I started here a mission. I have a fantastic squad. I have a very good human relation to my players. So I’m committed here.”
“The Mission Volta, the next step is to succeed on a WAFCON. I’m willing to fulfil my job here.
“And besides that, it’s not in my mind. But of course, that means that we are not doing things wrongly when there are such demands around.”
The Black Queens are set to depart for Japan on Sunday ahead of their friendly match at the Kanazawa Go Go Curry Stadium on July 13, 2024.
