Liverpool defender Joel Matip has asked for more time to make a decision about his international future, Cameroon head coach Rigobert Song has revealed.
The Indomitable Lions will play at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
The defender has not played for the national team again after rejection a call-up for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations – a tournament the team went ahead to win.
“About Matip. Our wish is to see him again wearing the tunic of the Indomitable Lions.
But you know, the answer is up to the player. He asked me for time to decide. I’m still waiting but you have to know that I don’t have all the time” Rigobert Song revealed.
