Ghanaian winger Ernest Nuamah has expressed his delight after playing a key role in Olympique Lyon’s dominant 4-1 victory over Montpellier in the French Ligue 1.
The Black Stars attacker was in top form on Sunday, playing the full 90 minutes at the Stade de la Mosson-Mondial 98. His outstanding performance saw him both score and assist, helping Lyon secure a crucial away win.
“I feel good, my teammates give me confidence on the field. Everything is going very well, I am more confident within the team. But I am aware that I can do more, I want to bring more to my team,” Nuamah said after the game.
Lyon took an early lead just three minutes into the match when Georgian forward Georges Mikautadze found the net after a setup from Rayan Cherki. However, Montpellier responded in the 38th minute through Tanguy Coulibaly, leveling the score before halftime.
After the break, Nuamah took charge, delivering a stunning three-minute spell that shifted the game in Lyon’s favor. He netted Lyon’s second goal five minutes into the second half and soon after provided an assist for Corentin Tolisso to extend their lead.
Veteran striker Alexandre Lacazette sealed the victory in the 73rd minute, ensuring Lyon took all three points.
The 21-year-old now has two goals in 16 Ligue 1 appearances this season. Across all competitions, he has recorded three goals and one assist in 24 games.
