Ghanaian forward Ernest Nuamah is determined to make an even greater impact at Olympique Lyon after playing a crucial role in their commanding 4-1 victory over Montpellier in the French Ligue 1.
Nuamah was instrumental in Lyon’s triumph at the Stade de la Mosson-Mondial 98 on Sunday, scoring one goal and providing an assist to help secure the win.
Following the match, the former FC Nordsjaelland star expressed his desire to contribute even more to the team. “I feel good, my teammates give me confidence on the field. Lyon made a flying start, taking the lead just three minutes into the game when Georgian international Georges Mikautadze found the net after being set up by Rayan Cherki. However, Montpellier equalized in the 38th minute through Tanguy Coulibaly, ensuring the first half ended 1-1.
Nuamah took center stage in the second half, sparking Lyon’s dominance with a goal and an assist in quick succession. He restored Lyon’s lead five minutes after the break before setting up Corentin Tolisso for the team’s third goal.
Veteran striker Alexandre Lacazette put the result beyond doubt in the 73rd minute, sealing an emphatic win for Lyon and securing all three points.
At 21, Nuamah has now scored twice in 16 Ligue 1 appearances this season. Across all competitions, he has recorded three goals and one assist in 24 games.
