“I have billions of issues to reveal” — Odartey Lamptey criticizes Eleven Wonders management over poor player welfare

Former Ghana international Nii Odartey Lamptey has shed light on the turmoil within Eleven Wonders, revealing that the club’s internal problems run far deeper than what has been publicly discussed.

His remarks come on the heels of alarming revelations by veteran coach J.E. Sarpong, who resigned after less than a month in charge, citing poor player welfare. According to Sarpong, players were not properly fed, routinely used public transport to attend training, and several were owed months of unpaid salaries.

Speaking to Asempa FM, Lamptey distanced himself from blame for the club’s disastrous start to the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season, insisting he did everything in his power to steady the team during his tenure.

“The challenges at Eleven Wonders were not because of me, and the players know that. Whatever I knew in the game, I applied it to save the club. If I tell you what I did for them, you would be surprised. That’s why I’ve decided to stay quiet—because the club should know better,” he said.

Lamptey endorsed Sarpong’s revelations and hinted at even more damning issues behind the scenes.

“With what J.E. Sarpong has said, I have billions of them. But to me, it’s not necessary to go into detail. What matters is that an experienced coach like Sarpong worked with the club for just three weeks and still came out to confirm these problems. That alone tells you something is wrong,” he added.

He stressed that the situation poses a significant threat to the quality of Ghanaian football as a whole.

“I just hope the wrongs will be corrected so the players can perform, because at the end of the day, it’s Ghana football that will suffer.”

Eleven Wonders remain bottom of the Premier League table with three points from 11 matches and are still searching for their first victory of the season. They host Dreams FC at the University of Ghana Stadium in Matchday 12 as they look to spark a turnaround.
