Former Ghana international Baffour Gyan has expressed his hopes for the Black Stars’ continued success after the team secured two consecutive victories in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

The team’s back-to-back wins against Mali and Central African Republic have revived their qualification chances, ending a seven-game winless streak.

In an interview with Koforidua-based Swiit FM, Gyan emphasized the importance of prayer and consistency for the team’s continued success.

“We’ve won two games in a row, so let’s hope and pray for more victories. You can’t take prayer out. It’s very important. Having won two games, I hope the team maintains the winning run in subsequent games,” he said.

The Black Stars achieved important away wins against Mali and Central African Republic, marking their first two consecutive victories since September 2023.

The team currently sits second in the Group I standings for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, accumulating 9 points after four games. The qualifying series will resume in March 2025.
