Asamoah Gyan has joined Ghanaians who believe that our football needs a huge revival.
Ghana’s all-time top-scorer Asamoah ‘Baby Jet’ Gyan on X, formerly Twitter, revealed that the time has come for the legends in Ghana’s sports to join hands to help fix the country’s ailing sports.
“I believe the time has come for Legends in sports to come together and use their influence, network and resources to attract investors into our country and make a meaningful impact on our youth in the sports fraternity i.e. football, boxing and other athletics,” wrote Gyan.
Ghana’s former captain disclosed that a huge investment is needed in our sports and hence legends must use their leverage to attract investors for Ghana.
“I strongly believe that engaging our youth and grooming them through these avenues can get them to be more focused, make sports more fun and attractive and eventually bring us together once again just as it used to be in past,” continued Gyan.
Baby Jet talked about how important it is for the nation to groom young athletes which will help make sports attractive in Ghana.
“I have started this journey and I humbly invite all my colleagues to join in this cause of reclaiming our football days,” added Asamoah Gyan. The former Sunderland striker disclosed that he is doing his best to attract investors to our sports so he will implore all legends in Ghana sports to do their best to reclaim Ghana’s lost status.
The “Save Ghana Football” project got underway last week in Accra as leading Sports Journalists and many Ghanaians demonstrated against the GFA and the Sports Ministry about the poor state of Ghana’s sports.
