DR Congo left-back Arthur Masuaku has been very impressive in the 2023 AFCON as he has helped the Leopards to reach the quarter-finals.
DR Congo beat Egypt 8-7 on penalties after drawing 1-1 in 120 minutes of action.
The former Westham United left-back made the bold statement after the game that he is happy to have helped the Leopards secure a quarter-final berth but he cares less about the penalty he missed.
“I missed my penalty. I don’t care. You can insult me as much as you want, but we are qualified”, said the Besiktas left back Masuaku.
Born in Lille, France, Arthur Masuaku Kawela was the only player who missed for the Leopards of DR Congo while Mostapha Mohamed and Gabaski missed for Egypt.
DR Congo will play against Guinea in the quarter-finals although they are yet to record a single win within 90 minutes in the 2023 AFCON.
