Egypt was eliminated by DR Congo in Round 16 of the AFCON 2023 on penalties after a 1-1 draw in 120 minutes on Sunday night.
Elia Meshack put the Leopards of DR Congo ahead in the 37th minute with Mostaoha Mohamed equalising for Egypt on the stroke of half-time. DR Congo won 8-7 on penalties against the Pharaohs to book a quarter-final berth.
Speaking to the press after the game, when Portuguese manager Rui Vitoria was quizzed about his future, he told them he wouldn’t rush to make any decision.
“My future with the national team? This is not the time for hasty decisions. I will take my time before making any decision”, revealed Rui Vitoria.
