After representing Ghana in the Africa Cup of Nations tournament qualifier match against Angola, Antoine Semenyo, the AFC Bournemouth forward, expressed his joy in scoring the winning goal for the Black Stars.
Semenyo’s goal, which came in the second half as a substitute, secured a 1-0 victory for his team from close range.
In a post-match interview, he shared his excitement on scoring his first goal for Ghana on home soil and being able to assist his team. He also mentioned that there was no pressure on him and that he will continue to be effective for the team.
“There was no pressure. I need to make sure I’m effective for the team. I always wanna help the team and be effective. I am happy today and we have to go again in the next few days.
“I’m really happy for the goal. I needed it, and the team needed it,” Antoine Semenyo said.
The reverse fixture against Angola is scheduled for March 27, and Semenyo is looking forward to helping the team once again.
