On Tuesday night in Bouake, Algeria will play Mauritania and it is a win or bust for The Fennex Foxes as even a draw may not be enough to secure their qualification to the Round 16.
Algeria played a game of their lives on Saturday afternoon against Burkina Faso as they needed Bounedjah’s 95th-minute header to secure a point. Many predicted Algeria to do well in the AFCON but haven’t lived up to the expectations so far even though they sometimes show glimpses in their games.
23-year-old Mohamed Amoura replaced Sofiane Feghouli in the 46th minute of the second half and added a whole lot to Algeria’s attack as he was difficult to deal with on the right wing.
In an interview after the game, Amoura assured Algerians of victory on Tuesday.
The Royale Union SG forward said, “I promise the Algerian people a victory and qualification on Tuesday evening against Mauritania”.
A win against Mauritania on Tuesday night is all that Algeria needs to progress from the group. The Fennec Foxes endured a horrible AFCON in 2021 and another horrible campaign will not be accepted by Algerians.
