Fifteen-year-old Ghanaian winger, Jahmael Ampofo has set his sights on following in the footsteps of fellow Ghanaian Jayden Addai, who made his debut for the AZ Alkmaar first team at a young age.
The young attacker has signed his first professional contract with AZ Alkmaar, committing to the club until mid-2027.
Ampofo joined AZ Alkmaar last year from amateur club ASC Waterwijk in Almere, and quickly made a significant impact in the AZ Under 15 team. He became a regular starter and was named Player of the Tournament at the U15 Kolping International Cup, where AZ secured third place.
The Almere-born footballer is looking forward to the new season and indicates which goals he has set for himself. “I want to score more goals and give more assists than last season,” Ampofo begins. “I want to be important for my team every game. Furthermore, I want to end up at AZ1 as soon as possible. The path that Jayden Addai has taken is a good example of a path that I would also like to take.”
Next season, Ampofo will advance to the AZ Under 16 team, where he is expected to continue his development.
