Veteran Ghanaian football administrator, Johnathan Abbey Pobee has said that he is not surprised about the current state of Ghana football under Kurt Okraku.
According to the owner of the defunct Neoplan Stars FC, he knew that nothing good will come out of Kurt Okraku’s reign as Ghana Football Association president.
He said he warned the football community from choosing either Kurt Okraku, George Afriyie or Osei Kweku Palmer to lead the football association but they didn’t listen to his caution.
Abbey Pobee in an interview with Rainbow Radio said we need diplomats to run the GFA and not the current leaders whom he described as goro boys.
“I said in 2019 that George Afriyie, Osei Kweku Palmer and Kurt Okraku are all part of the problem and can’t do any better job at the GFA but it seems we have forgotten. They have collapsed the football long time.”
“We need God to give us a new person and we don’t even need a football person to run the GFA. We need a diplomat who is competent like the FIFA General Secretary to run the GFA while we get rid of the goro boys at the GFA,” he said on Rainbow Radio.
