Kumasi Asante Kotoko SC legend, Sarfo Gyamfi says he was surprised he didn’t see Accra Hearts of Oak SC striker Daniel Afriyie Barnieh in the lineup for the AFCON Qualifiers against Madagascar.

The Ex-Kotoko player is an admirer of the Hearts of Oak player and has been advocating for him to be given a chance to play for Black Stars in a competition game.

Barnieh was part of the Black Stars team for the  2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers but did not manage to make it into the matchday squad and was dropped from the team that travel to face Central Africa Republic.

The Kotoko legend after nor seeing the youngster play for the Black Stars has expressed his dissatisfaction.

“ I am very much surprised he was not in our starting line up against Madagascar and CAR, He is a very good striker who could have helped us even more upfront than those who played did”, he told CTV.
