Ghanaian football icon Asamoah Gyan has expressed his willingness to coach Asante Kotoko in the future, despite not being able to fulfill his playing dream with the club during his playing career.
In a recent interview with UTV, Gyan stated that he would be open to taking on the coaching role if he decides to pursue a career in coaching.
Although he retired from playing in June 2023, Gyan still holds a UEFA B coaching license and has expressed his enthusiasm for coaching. However, his current focus lies on other projects, including the upcoming All Regional Games scheduled for November 2024.
Gyan also serves as the leader of the manifesto committee for Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s campaign in the upcoming 2024 general elections. Despite his busy schedule, Gyan’s passion for football remains strong, and he sees coaching Kotoko as a potential opportunity to give back to the club he loves.
“Why not? I will gladly accept Kotoko’s coaching job if I’m into coaching,” Gyan said, leaving fans speculating about the possibility of seeing him on the touchline in the future.
