Zlatan Ibrahimovic, 40, has recently extended his contract with AC Milan. The new agreement extends through next season. In addition, the star will also keep jersey number 11 as he continues his career.

And Zlatan is said to have taken a pay cut to stay at the club. According to the journalist

Ibrahimovic will now earn between ten and fifteen million kroner.

He has spent the last season with a serious knee injury. An injury that limited the amount of exercise he could do, how much he could sleep and resulted in him needing to take a lot of pain medication.

“I have never suffered so much. I have barely slept in six months,” he wrote on Instagram in May.

“Football dies if I quit”

In an Instagram live, Zlatan Ibrahimovic is asked if he considered retiring given the contract situation and injuries, but the answer was as clear as it was Zlatan-esque.

– Never. If I quit, football will die, he stated according to Gazzetta dello Sport while on holiday in the sun in Sardinia.

Although injury problems limited his participation, Ibrahimovic is credited by many with a big part of last year’s league gold medal success.
