Super Eagles’ wonderful wing-back Ola Aina has revealed his intentions to take another penalty if he is required to do so in the AFCON even though he missed against Bafana Bafana.

Speaking to the Planet Sports Africa podcast, the Nottingham Forest’s defender revealed his intentions to be part of the penalty-takers for Nigeria against Ivory Coast.

“If it comes to me again, I will be taking another one, that’s just me”, revealed Ola Aina.

The former Chelsea Academy graduate was the only one who missed Nigeria’s five penalties against South Africa in the semi-finals.

Born in London to Nigerian parents, the 27-year-old Aina has represented England on all Youth levels except the Three Lions. He made the switch to represent Nigeria in May 2017 and was part of the Super Eagles team that finished 3rd in the 2019 AFCON in Egypt.

Ola Aina has been an integral part of Jose Peseiro’s flying Super Eagles as he has played every minute in the 2023 AFCON except the first game against Equatorial Guinea where he was substituted in the 82nd minute for Bright Osayi-Samuel.
