Former Asante Kotoko striker Kwame Poku has expressed his readiness to join newly-promoted Ghana Premier League side Nations FC if they approach him with a good offer.
Poku is currently playing for Olympique Khouribga in Morocco, where he signed in February 2023. However, he revealed that Nations FC was interested in his services last season to help secure promotion to the Premier League.
He stated that he wouldn’t be surprised if they approach him again, now that they have achieved promotion to the top-tier league.
“Nations FC were after my services last season; they wanted me to join to help secure a promotion to the Premier League. I wouldn’t be surprised if they approach me again, having secured promotion to the top-tier league,” Poku told Vision 1 FM in an interview.
”Never say never. I don’t know what the future holds; it is football, and anything can happen. If they come with a good offer, I’ll play for them,” he added.
Poku began his career at Nkoranza Warriors and later signed for Asante Kotoko in 2020 before moving to USM Alger for €350,000 in March 2021. He then joined Olympique Khouribga in February 2023.
Poku made an immediate impact at USM Alger, scoring 5 goals and providing 4 assists in 17 matches in all competitions in his first season.
He also made his debut for the Ghana national team, the Black Stars, in March 2021 in a 1-1 draw against South Africa in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualification.
