Bibiani Gold Stars head coach Frimpong Manso has pledged his team will double their efforts as they chase the Ghana Premier League title.
Manso’s remarks come on the back of an impressive first-round campaign that has positioned the Gye Nyame lads as unexpected leaders.
Currently sitting atop the league table with 33 points from 17 matches, Gold Stars have defied expectations after narrowly avoiding relegation last season.
In an interview with Akoma 87.9 FM, Manso expressed confidence in their title chances:
“Now we’ve seen that if we push a little bit, we can win the league title. Therefore, we’re striving for first place and will work twice as hard as we did in the first round.”
Gold Stars’ remarkable turnaround has earned widespread admiration, with solid performances propelling them to the summit of the standings.
The team will begin their second-round campaign on Saturday against Legon Cities at the University of Ghana Stadium. The match is seen as a crucial test of their title credentials as they aim to solidify their position at the top.
