Asante Kotoko’s newly appointed technical director, Malik Jabir, is optimistic about his ability to significantly influence the team’s performance, despite having only recently taken on the role.
Jabir, a club legend, succeeded Kwesi Appiah as technical director and has made a strong start, with Kotoko securing a 2-0 victory over Future Stars in the MTN FA Cup on Sunday.
“I’m currently monitoring the players so, with time, I can help the coach with my input,” Jabir stated after the win.
The former player commended the team’s resilience and determination, especially considering the short period he has had to work with the squad.
“I’m happy to start on a winning note. I will pray and work hard so we can maintain momentum this season,” he added.
Looking ahead, Kotoko’s next challenge will be a highly anticipated Ghana Premier League clash against their arch-rivals, Hearts of Oak.
