‘I’m happy we won our first game after two defeats but sad WAFA is going down’ – Coach Prosper Narteh

Head coach for Ghana Premier League leaders, Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum has expressed his joy in his team’s victory over West Africa Football Academy (WAFA) SC.

But the Kumasi Asante Kotoko SC manager was also sad because his former club, WAFA are on their way down to the Division One League after the defeat unless they win almost all their seven matches left.

According to him, he was happy his team got the win after losing two consecutive games in the league to Real Tamale United FC at the Aliu Mahama stadium and at Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi to Legon Cities FC.

Howver, Ogum felt sad as he described his emotions as mixed feelings stating that he’s said because his team’s victory is sinking the team that made him the coach he’s today.

“I’m happy we won, we are coming from a backdrop of two losses against RTU, and Legon Cities but if you look at the defeat, it’s sending the team [WAFA] that made me who I am in coaching down the relegation zone so I have mixed feelings but I’m a professional”, he said after the match.

Kotoko beat WAFA 1-0 at the Red Bull Arena in Sogakope for the first time in the Ghana Premier League.
