Hearts of Oak forward, Asamoah Boateng Afriyie, has expressed that he is unfazed by his current lack of goals in the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League, emphasizing that his primary concern is the team’s overall success.
Despite featuring in all four of Hearts’ matches this season, Afriyie is yet to score. However, the former Nations FC striker remains confident and untroubled by his goal drought.
“I’m playing a different role. I’m not worried about the goal drought. We are now gelling as a team. We are all keen about the team’s success, not personal glory,” Afriyie said after Hearts of Oak’s goalless draw against his former club, Nations FC, last Sunday.
Afriyie joined the Phobians during the off-season transfer window, looking to bolster their attacking options.
Hearts of Oak, who are searching for their second win of the season, will next face Aduana Stars, a team equally eager for their first victory after four rounds of matches.
