Ghana’s Black Stars forward Joel Fameye says he wants to acquire Russian nationality after playing in the country since 2019.
The former Asokwa Deportivo SC striker is not shying away from acquiring Citizenship of the European country in the coming years.
He welcomed the idea and has stated his desire to willingness to acquire a Russian passport.
“If they give me a Russian passport, I am ready to accept it;” Fameye told Match TV.
The 26-year-old, who has spent four years playing in Russia, is on the periphery of the Ghana squad.
He played for Ghana under CK Akonnor during the qualifying series for the 2022 FIFA World Cup tournament in Qatar and the AFCON 2021 tournament in Cameroon.
He has two goals in three matches this season in the 2023-24 Russia Premier League for Rubin Kazan.
