Ghanaian winger Ernest Nuamah shared his relief and excitement after netting his first goal of the season in Olympique Lyon’s dramatic 3-2 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt on Thursday.
The 21-year-old delivered the decisive strike in the 54th minute, sealing a much-needed win for Lyon. Reflecting on his breakthrough moment, Nuamah said, “I needed this so much, and I have been working hard for this.”
This season has been challenging for Nuamah, with limited playing time and just seven starts. However, he remains optimistic that his performance will lead to more opportunities.
Speaking about his journey, he shared, “I was out at the beginning of the season, then I came back into the squad. I’m so happy and proud to score my first goal, and hopefully, more will follow.”
Despite a failed transfer to Fulham on deadline day, Nuamah has been linked with a potential move to the Premier League in the upcoming January transfer window. His latest performance could strengthen his case for a bigger role at Lyon or attract further interest from other clubs.
