Ghana midfielder Majeed Ashimeru might be the man in form at Anderlecht at the moment. Once again, he was one of the standout performers when he produced subtle assist in Vincent Kompany’s team’s 1-0 against Royal Antwerp last weekend.
“This might have been my best match for Anderlecht”, the said the Ghanaian international after the game.
Ashimeru, a former Red Bull Salzburg player has been on top form at Anderlecht since joining the club six month ago permanently.
“When I saw Zirkzee running, I knew where to give the ball. And at that penalty moment, I knew how Nainggolan would play the ball,” Ashimeru said afterwards. “But of course this win was above all a collective achievement.

When asked if this was his best game for Anderlecht, he cautiously replied in the affirmative. “I am very satisfied with my current level. I have to continue on this momentum and stay focused. We are on the right track, but we can still be better and more efficient. Next week against Gent will be important again.
He added that: “We have nothing in our hands yet. In the dressing room we celebrated the victory, but we know we have three important games ahead of us.”
Ashimeru, 24, has made 30 appearances for Anderlecht an scored three goals in the 2021/21 season.
