Finidi George served as the assistant coach to Jose Peseiro for 20 months and hence knows a thing or two about how to manage the Super Eagles Squad.
In June, Nigeria will play against South Africa and Benin in a must-win game of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
Speaking ahead of the two games, the former Super Eagles superstar has revealed that he has been following the Bafana Bafana and Benin squads so he knows about them.
“In terms of knowing our opponents, I have been following them. The world today is a global village; one can monitor anything in the comfort of his/her sitting room,” disclosed Finidi George, the head coach of Nigeria.
“We need prayers and support from everybody; this is our own; we can do it and do it well,” added Finidi.
The head coach thinks Nigerians should pray for the Super Eagles and support them unconditionally ahead of the two fixtures in June because they have the capabilities to win those two games.
“I watch our players weekly as they play in their various clubs. Honestly, my target is to win the two matches and not to be judged with the two international friendly games played,” concluded George Finidi.
