Inaki Williams expressed admiration for teammate Gideon Mensah after Mensah’s impressive assist led to Williams scoring his first goal for Ghana in their 2026 World Cup qualifier against Madagascar.
Williams, previously facing discussions about being benched due to an 11-game goal drought, rose to the occasion with a 95th-minute winner.
Williams credited the team effort, emphasizing his joy and gratitude for Mensah’s excellent cross.
“The Almighty made this possible for me. All my teammates are calling me ‘Kwaku the Baller’. I’m so happy. I can only say thank you. Gideon Mensah put in a good cross and I scored the goal. I’m so happy.”
The Black Stars will face Comoros next on Tuesday evening.
