Black Stars striker Inaki Williams opened his league account for the season, netting in Athletic Bilbao’s 2-0 away victory over CD Leganés earlier this evening.

The 30-year-old forward, who provided three assists in their previous match against Las Palmas, continued his fine form by scoring the decisive second goal in the 75th minute.

Bilbao had taken the lead just ten minutes earlier through Daniel Vivian’s strike, and Williams’ finish at the Burtaque sealed all three points for the visitors.

Williams, starting in the lineup once again, was instrumental in Bilbao’s back-to-back wins, contributing to four goals in his last two games — three assists and one goal.

Athletic Bilbao will return to the San Mamés Stadium this weekend to face Celta Vigo in match-week 7 of the Spanish La Liga, where Williams will look to extend his impressive run of form.
