Ghanaian midfielder Michael Baidoo continued his remarkable form for IF Elfsborg, netting his 12th goal of the season in a 2-2 draw against IFK Norrköping in the Swedish Allsvenskan on Thursday evening.
In a match-week 23 clash at the Boraas Arena, Baidoo opened the scoring with a stunning strike in the 11th minute to give Elfsborg an early lead. However, the hosts were reduced to ten men just six minutes later when Ibrahim Buhari received a straight red card for a dangerous tackle.
Despite being a man down, Elfsborg held firm until the second half when IFK Norrköping mounted heavy pressure. Carl Björk equalized for the visitors in the 55th minute, and eight minutes later, Swedish international Moberg Karlsson put Norrköping ahead with a clinical finish.
Timothy Ouma restored parity for Elfsborg in the 73rd minute to ensure the points were shared, with both sides unable to find a winner.
Baidoo, who has been a standout for Elfsborg this season, played 68 minutes alongside compatriot Terry Yegbe, while 19-year-old Ghanaian midfielder Stephen Bolma came on as a late substitute for IFK Norrköping.
With nine goals and four assists in 22 league matches, plus three goals and three assists in UEFA Europa League qualifiers, Baidoo has established himself as a key player for Elfsborg this season.
