Kwesi Appiah, the newly appointed head coach of the Sudanese senior national team, will have the authority to select his own backroom staff, according to Footballghana.com’s confirmation.
The 63-year-old coach will be officially unveiled on Sunday, October 8 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, where he will sign a three-year contract. It has been exclusively revealed by Footballghana.com that Kwesi Appiah, the former Ghana coach, will have the autonomy to choose his own support staff, as directed by the Sudanese Football Association.
Kwesi Appiah is no stranger to Sudanese football, having previously served as the head coach of Al Khartoum in December 2014. During his tenure with the club, he guided them to a fourth-place finish in the league and secured qualification for the CAF Confederation Cup.
Despite achieving a club record of 65 points in the following season, they narrowly missed out on qualifying for the CAF Confederation Cup.
During his time in Sudan, Appiah had a close working relationship with the FA.
