New Liverpool signing Jeremie Frimpong has shared his excitement and determination following his transfer to Anfield, describing the decision to join the club as a “no-brainer.”
Speaking to Liverpoolfc.com for the first time since sealing his move, the Dutch-born Ghanaian right-back revealed how quickly things progressed once Liverpool made their interest known.
“It went quite easy,” Frimpong said. “Liverpool came and said they had interest, and obviously for me it was a no-brainer. For me, it was like, ‘Whatever you guys do, just get this done.’ [I said that to] my agents: ‘Just get this done.’”
Frimpong, known for his blistering pace and tireless energy, promised to bring his trademark intensity and passion to the pitch as he embarks on a new chapter with the Reds.
“Liverpool fans, I’m going to give my all, my energy, my work-rate and hopefully we can win together, we celebrate together, get everything together,” he said. “I’m just excited to be here. Thank you guys for accepting me and I won’t let you guys down. I’ll give you the energy that you guys want.”
The 24-year-old joins Liverpool after an impressive spell with Bayer Leverkusen, where he played a key role in their Bundesliga-winning campaign.
His arrival is seen as a major boost to the Reds’ squad as they look to challenge for domestic and European honours under new manager Arne Slot.
