Ghanaian forward Jordan Ayew expressed pride in his abilities after netting a crucial late winner in Leicester City’s dramatic comeback victory over Southampton. The Foxes faced a tough challenge at St. Mary’s on Saturday, going into halftime 2-0 down.

However, in a remarkable turnaround, Ayew made a dash to the near post to meet a corner in the 98th minute, scoring the decisive goal and securing a 3-2 win for Leicester City.

Reflecting on his first league goal for Leicester in a post-match interview, Ayew called it a “special moment” and spoke confidently about his contribution. “It was obviously my first goal for the club in the league, and it took a bit of time, but I believe in myself and my abilities. I know I can contribute a lot, and I’m happy for the fans, for myself, and for my family,” he said.

Southampton had taken control early in the match with first-half goals from Cameron Archer and Joe Aribo, giving them a comfortable lead at the break.

Leicester began their comeback in the 64th minute when Facundo Buonanotte scored with an assist from Ghanaian winger Abdul Fatawu Issahaku. Jamie Vardy then leveled the match in the 74th minute with a penalty. Ayew, who joined Leicester in the summer, capped the team’s effort with his winning goal, set up by Harry Winks.

Abdul Fatawu Issahaku also made his mark, earning the Man of the Match award after delivering an assist in just 31 minutes on the pitch.
