Former Hearts of Oak forward Kwadwo Obeng Junior has emphatically stated that there is no chance his former club will be relegated and strongly believes they will secure survival by the end of the season.
The 25-year-old, who joined the ‘Phobians’ in 2018 from Nea Salamina and made over 100 appearances before leaving prior to the start of the ongoing season, expressed his confidence despite the club’s current struggles.
Hearts of Oak have been hovering near the relegation zone in the ongoing campaign, currently sitting in 13th place with 41 points and just two matches remaining.
In an interview with Kumasi-based Fox FM, Obeng Junior, who is currently unattached, conveyed his unwavering belief that the team will win their remaining games and stay in the topflight.
“No way Hearts of Oak will be relegated. I have no contract with them, but I still believe in the team,” he said. “It will never happen that Hearts will finish in the bottom three of the league.”
Hearts of Oak are set to face regional rivals Great Olympics in the next round of matches.
